"Baby Ella"

I painted this two years ago and it is the "only" painting I have done since 1996. This is my grand daughter Ella. When you "decide" to paint without practice the results are acceptable, but to my eye, I know I can do better. Someday I hope to do a full portrait of Ella with the skill and intensity I would like. Again, this was done quickly. I make no apologies, I am just speaking the truth.

"Sunflower" 4" x 6" canvas board

This is my first painting, or study, done in years. I hope to make this the first of many. I had to literally dust of the cobwebs from my easel and art supplies. By the time I was ready to paint today, with everything set up, I only had a few minutes to complete this study but I wanted to paint "something", "anything" to just "start" again. I hope to have some form of art on this blog every day or so. Please come back to see what I do and how quickly I progress after a very very very long time away from painting.
