...driving past an old house that was filled with beautiful birdhouses...(having trouble posting these pictures as the resolution must be to high)....... Yes Fall was beautiful in Maine, and these birdhouses will soon have snow, much snow, on them.......so I will enjoy them while I can.

...It is already October 29th and I have yet to paint anything, but have enjoyed looking at others paintings. I have some really good excuses, or reasons why I have not been painting, but I have promised to keep this blog strictly art related. So having said that, enjoy the picture and I may post a few more.

Returned yesterday from a week trip to Boston and Kennebunkport, Maine. Gorgeous weather and wonderful time. Need to get back to painting.

"Irene"

This is also a painting I did around 1994 and to the right is the photo I used. This is a study in character. I feel it shows a strong sense of definition in the eyes and painterly quality to the hair around the face. This oil painting is 20" by 24".

"Three Ladies Swimming"

This is a painting done in 1995, but just wanted to put something up for the day. This is a painting done from a photo by Mary Ellen Marks, one of the finest photographers in the country. I contacted her to see if I could duplicate this 30" by 24" oil painting, but she denied my request, and I respect her decision. (even though I could have sold many of these prints). I lived in Miami at one time and found this so suitable for the genre I was painting...........I will probably be away from any posting until around the 10th of October as I leave to go to Maine and enjoy the Fall Coastline with some friends. Have a few days to get ready.
